Why I will vote for Barack Obama

These are my reasons, in order of importance, for voting for Barack Obama

1. Barack Obama believes in talking to countries we have issues with - reach out. Barack Obama can restore America's integrity.

2. Barack Obama believes in talking to politicians across the aisle - he wants to solve problems for America. The previous administration, and Republican politicians in general, wanted to stay in power so they generated partisan nitpicking. That distracted everyone long enough so the neocons could run roughshod over everything.

(The consistency of 2 and 3 demonstrates a fundamental belief that problems are solved when people talk and find areas of agreement.)

3. Barack Obama believes one of government's jobs is to provide a safety net for the less fortunate among us. That's not to say people are coddled or 'taken care of''; its a recognition that life isn't fair sometimes and we want all people in America to have a chance - to believe in the promise of America - so we treat each other like friends and we try to right prior wrongs. That's what it means to be American.

4. Barack Obama is pro women - pro choice, equal pay for equal work.
