The Mole
I'm looking forward to next week to find out who the Mole is. I think it could be any of them. Mark seemed suspicious yesterday and it was perfect for him to get the Mole's dossier. They've got me fooled!
Design Star
In either case I would have been happy. I was glad Jennifer won, and I was sad for Matt that he didn't win. I think HGTV would do well to include the second place winners for each season in a show somehow - any one of them would be a welcome addition.
In Plain Sight
I like this show. I watched several episodes that had built up over the weekend and enjoyed all the stories. I hope it sticks around for a couple years. I don't need the whole thing with the Mom and sister though. That part bores me and I skip through it.
The Closer
The only thing that bothers me about this show - and I think they're changing it now - is that its not clear what function most of the detectives on the squad fulfill. They seem to be in service to Brenda who does all the solving and they just sit by and watch her work. I'd like the writers to broaden the stories relating to the other detectives. Tao has been funny in the last couple episodes.
In last night's episode, I liked that Fritz stood up to her for once. He puts up with a heckuva lot. And its true - she takes, takes, takes from him work-wise. She never gives back.
Saving Grace
I watch this show as well. Good one. But, kind of depressing sometimes because Grace Hanadarko is so anguished and participates in behaviors that I don't understand. I haven't watched last night's episde yet.
Mad Men
I know everyone loves this show. And I like the look and feel of it. What I don't like is the vagueness of what's going on. My example: In last week's episode, Betty seemed to be implying she was going to give the tow-truck driver something of a sexual nature if he would only charge her 3 dollars to fix her car. And yet, he didn't get anything. She didn't kiss him (which is what I thought would happen) and he didn't ask for anything. There was some kind of understanding that went between them, but it didn't get to me. I just didn't get it. And I get tired of that kind of story. I'm sure its a reflection on me that I need a little more obviousness in my stories. But, I think I'm not going to watch this show.
I will note a peculiar thing. The show is well-loved by many. The show depicts the 'invisible' role of women, in business in particular. And even though the women are a huge part of the story, none of the women actresses were nominated for an Emmy award. That may be perfectly fine - I only note it as a peculiarity.
