Wimbledon

Wow - what a match. Crazy good tennis. I was rooting for Federer, but I'm not unhappy Nadal won. I am overwhelmed by their level of talent and determination. Amazing.
Excellent work by both.
Roger Federer wasn't playing his best tennis, I thought. He sent a lot of balls into the net. He had more unforced errors and winners than Nadal. I wonder what was off balance for him that he hit into the net a lot? Or am I imagining that he did?
He's a class act. I love the tennis clothes he wears.
The match made me think about what it means to be an elite athlete. I can't imagine it. I'm not a good competitor. I don't like to be in the lead, I don't like people gunning after me, I like to sneak in at the end. That's the only way I can win things. And if people expect me to win, I get so nervous I can't keep calm...and I'm talking board games here! I can't imagine (can not e-ven i-mag-ine) what it would be like on Center Court at Wimbledon.
And what must it be like to be the close friend, family member or significant other of an elite athlete? What do they need when they win? Lose?
So - good for Roger Federer and good for Rafael Nadal.
Great match.
