Its likely that as the violence increases in Afghanistan, our focus will move there and we'll send more troops. After some period of time, it will clear up a bit. By then, however, the violence in Iraq will have escalated. The focus will shift and we'll send more troops. The insurgent/Al Qaeda crowd will have us jumping back and forth for who knows how long?
With Iran in the middle. This is not good.
At the risk of being dismissed as a naieve peacenik...war never solves anything. Its not as if World War II rid the world of dictators or genocide. Its not as if the borders we fight for are permanent.
Its the humanity of us - fear - that we need to resolve. Not as a country, but as a species.
